Limited Tax Preparation

Tax preparation is available only for selected existing bookkeeping clients or businesses whose books we have completed or reviewed.

Tax preparation is not offered as a stand-alone service

Aldersgate does not accept general tax-preparation clients whose bookkeeping we have not reviewed. Tax preparation is limited to selected existing bookkeeping clients or businesses whose books we have completed, cleaned up, or otherwise examined closely enough to rely on.

This limited approach allows us to prepare returns from records we understand and reduces the risk of working from incomplete, inconsistent, or unreliable books.

Who may qualify

  • Existing bookkeeping clients
  • Businesses whose cleanup we completed
  • Businesses whose books we reviewed and found reliable
  • Clients whose records are complete enough for accurate preparation

Who generally will not qualify

  • Stand-alone tax-preparation inquiries
  • Businesses with unreviewed or unreliable books
  • Clients unwilling to provide complete records
  • Situations outside our available scope or capacity

How the tax-preparation process works

Tax preparation begins only after we have enough familiarity with the books to rely on them. We review the records, gather the remaining tax documents, prepare the return, address any questions, and provide the completed filing for review and authorization.

1. Confirm the records

We verify that the bookkeeping is complete enough to support accurate tax preparation and identify any remaining information needed.

2. Prepare the return

We prepare the applicable return using the reviewed books and the tax documents you provide.

3. Review and file

We explain the completed return, address your questions, and file it after receiving your authorization.

Bookkeeping comes first

Accurate tax preparation depends on reliable bookkeeping. If the records are incomplete, unreconciled, or inconsistent, cleanup work may be required before tax preparation can begin.

We will explain what needs to be corrected and whether the books are ready to support a return.
