Ongoing Bookkeeping
Keep your books current, reconciled, and organized through consistent monthly bookkeeping designed for established businesses that are a good fit.
Reliable books require consistent attention
Monthly bookkeeping keeps transactions categorized, accounts reconciled, and financial reports current. When the work is done consistently, problems are easier to identify, tax preparation is smoother, and business owners have a clearer picture of what is happening financially.
Ongoing bookkeeping is available selectively, generally after the books are already current and the working relationship is a good fit.

How monthly bookkeeping works
Each month, we gather the necessary records, review and categorize the activity, reconcile the accounts, and prepare updated financial reports. Any questions or unusual transactions are addressed before the month is closed.
1. Gather
Provide the month’s bank statements, credit-card statements, and any other necessary records.
2. Categorize
Review and categorize the month’s transactions, noting any items that require clarification.
3. Reconcile
Reconcile the bank and credit-card accounts so the bookkeeping records agree with the statements.
4. Report
Prepare updated financial reports and communicate any questions, issues, or items that still need attention.
When cleanup may be required first
Ongoing bookkeeping works best when the books are already current and reasonably reliable. If accounts have not been reconciled, prior balances are incorrect, or several months of activity are missing, a cleanup project may be required before monthly bookkeeping can begin.
In those cases, we will explain what needs to be corrected first and whether a cleanup engagement is the appropriate next step.
